... improvement, instead of perfection."
50 Days done ... 1/2 way to the end, and what do I have to show for it? Do I feel I'm 1/2 way out of my rut? Can I see improvements in my life? Yes, there is change, that I know. It isn't as pronounced as I wish it was, but there are things that I can look back on and see where things are beginning to change, both internally and externally. Realizations, practices that are becoming common, unhealthy habits that I'm slowly letting go and replacing with habits that are more healthy, self-discoveries and moments when I see things through a different lens. All is good!
Moments of Gratitude for Today
1. Last night, like what happens occasionally, I got sick. What I'm grateful for is that I got sick before midnight this time, so I had a good 5 hrs of non-interrupted sleep!
2. Today, I'm grateful for trying a different recipe and it came out ok. Not one of my best, but it will be a good combination of vegetables, protein and a little carb. I even had to make a quick grocery run to have all the ingredients!
3. Today, I'm grateful for getting my dishes done before bed ... this is an example where I would have cleaned my kitchen but not do the dishes. Today, I will have an empty, clean sink upon going to bed.
4. Today, I'm grateful for leaving work when I'm supposed to. It seems to me that many people leave early and I often stay late. I don't get paid for overtime anymore, so I'm trying to be more conscious of the time and plan my day to be productive right to the end.
5. Today, I'm grateful that I will be in bed and maybe asleep by 10 PM. I've never been one to go to bed early, and though it really affects the time I have during the day, it is good to get up, have time to shower and feel well-rested for the day.
