On this day Monday, August 11, 2014, the world lost a wonderful person. Robin Williams took his life. And this has opened up a huge discussion on every media outlet about depression and suicide. People are questioning, are empathizing, are challenging this whole area, and I don't know where this will lead, but it is a good place to start. I had great respect and admiration for Williams, as an artist, an actor, and a person, and yes, I grieve with the world. I won't get into this right now (or maybe never), but I did want to mark this day. The movie Dead Poets Society had a huge effect on me, on my teaching and passion, and on what I believe as an artist and person, and his performances and stories of his generosity will long live in my heart.

Gratitude:
1/ Today, I'm grateful for having grown up in the time of Robin Williams and watched his gift to the world unfold. There will never be another person like him.
2/ Today, I'm grateful that I got to spend time with RA and pass on the items I had for her. At least my multivitamins won't go unused!
3/ Today, I'm grateful that things at work are making sense. This new task is manageable and it gives me something new to wrap my mind around!
4/ Today, I'm grateful for the few compliments I got on my new dress. That was nice of people. It was also nice that I managed to wear heels with it for most of the day!
5/ Today, I'm grateful for figuring out how to get KH the rest of her programmes and that BS agreed to help out.
