35 of 100 ... Lost Day

A day with little productivity or drive or much of anything.  Ah well ... it's another day tomorrow ...

Day's Report

Habits:
- Clean Sink: yes
- Cups of Water: 4
- Hours of sleep: no clue, about 7ish?

- Meds: yes
- Reading: no
- FoodRecord: no

FitBit Notes:
- how about I just say under 5000?? Yeah ... effort to change this needs to be done

Goal Advancement for today:

E: did a bit of work with my storage. Not as much as I would have liked to, but every bit counts, right?
(E-Environment, H:Health, F:Financial, PD: Prof/Personal Development, R: Relationships.)

Gratitude:

1.  Today I'm grateful for getting my nails done.  Good to have these in a good state again.
2.  Today I'm grateful that I found some clothing in storage that I can wear again.  I wasn't sure if my plan was to recycle these or what, but I can use some of them again so that's good.
3.  Today I'm grateful for the bit of contact I had with my brother.  I missed some - the ringer on my phone isn't working, it seems.
4.  Today I'm grateful for another beautiful day ... they say snow is coming tomorrow.  Oh joy.
5.  Today - right now - I'm glad that the day is done.  I will do my best to make tomorrow different.

34 of 100 ... Good day, Low steps

Yeah, I'm going to have to give special attention to weekend days to get those steps up!  Lots done, but my steps won't show it!

Habits:
- Clean Sink: yes
- Cups of Water: 6
- Hours of sleep: no clue, but I woke at 10.

- Meds: yes
- Reading: no
- FoodRecord: no

FitBit Notes:
- how about I just say under 5000??

Goal Advancement for today:

E: did some cleaning out of my storage. Emptied my car and re-loaded it. And considering that meant a trip to a special second-hand store that takes patterns and sewing stuff, all was good! I also checked - there's room in my storage space outside! Still someone's bicycles, but at least there's shelf space!
(E-Environment, H:Health, F:Financial, PD: Prof/Personal Development, R: Relationships.)

Gratitude:

1/  Today, I'm grateful for clean sheets!  I need to put my focus now on my storage so if laundry gets set aside for a bit, so be it.  But today, I washed my sheets!
2/  Today, I'm grateful for second-hand places that do take sewing things.  I'd hate to throw sewing things away if they can still be used by someone.  So, I might have to drive them up into the NE, but at least there is a place or this!
3/  Today, I'm grateful for clean showers and running water!  Something about getting dirty and sweaty and then a fantastic shower ... nothing better!
4/ Today, I'm grateful for spending a bit of time at my storage ... the cleaning has officially begun! Now, to put the push on!
5/  Today, I'm grateful that I was able to help RA with her puzzlement.  Sometimes I'm amazed with what I know ... and then it became evident that there was more to learn for me, which was good, also! It was good to talk to her about all sorts of things - a bit of laughter, a bit of support, and just some old-fashioned women chit-chat. Good for the soul!

... and now to go to bed in clean sheets!!!

33 out 100 ... Friday, at last!

I wish fun evenings would happen on a Friday or Saturday night - but I'm always so tired on Fridays!  I actually came home and had a nap ... from 5:00-7:45.  I felt a bit better then, but man, was I wiped! The thing about that is that it destroys my evening ...

Habits:
- Clean Sink: no
- Cups of Water: 5
- Hours of sleep: 6h 33m (2x awake, 8x restless)
- Meds: no ... this is what gets messed up.

- Reading: no
- FoodRecord: no

FitBit Notes:
- 7042 steps! (3.03 mi, 16 active min) Anything over 7000 is a great place to start for me!

Goal Advancement for today:

H: I went for lunch with two friends from work - and though what I ate was not the most healthy, we walked there, which was good and what pushed my steps up.
(E-Environment, H:Health, F:Financial, PD: Prof/Personal Development, R: Relationships.)

Gratitude:

1.  I'm grateful that NL and SD asked me for lunch.  It was nice to get out!
2.  I'm grateful that I survived the day - I got almost nothing of my own stuff done but I left Gen's stuff in a good place.  Now, next week, I'll be busy catching up with my stuff!!
3.  I'm grateful today for my bed, which welcomes me any time of the day or night. And for the flannel sheets and feather blanket - it might be warm outside, but my basement bedroom is always a bit cool and I can still use my warm things all year long.
4.  I'm grateful today for the beautiful day we had.  I know it will change, and that's ok - fall weather and winter weather holds its own beauty, but the last days of summer are beautiful.
5.  I'm grateful today that my brother and his family got to Hawaii safely.  I hope they have a fantastic, wonderful holiday as a family!

32 of 100 ... And Out of the Blue

Today was crazy and fun and I just might pay for it a bit tomorrow! I got a note through email today that a friend, KA, had an extra ticket given to her for this evening for an ATP play.  I knew nothing about this play (One Man, Two Guvnors) and knew nothing of it's fabulous run on Broadway. It was a no-brainer ... off I went for fun night!

Habits:
- Clean Sink: yes (didn't change from yesterday!)
- Cups of Water: 4
- Hours of sleep: 7h 56m (2x awake, 15x restless)

- Meds: yes
- Reading: no
- FoodRecord: all but supper (went to a fabulous Japanese Noodle House in Calgary!)

FitBit Notes:
- 8939 steps!!! (3.85 mi, 26 active min)  MOST YET!!

Goal Advancement for today:

H: My eating was wonderful (until supper) ... and my steps were almost at 10,000!  That's because I parked the car for the show and KA and I walked for dinner.  She was patient with me, and I knew it would help my steps!  I don't shy away from walking now because I want to feel that pulse that I hit 10,000!  It was also wonderful for my spirit to get out and laugh and enjoy KA's company!  I've missed her but I'm also glad for her. I'm so honoured that she chose me to share the ticket with tonight!
R: Being spontaneous can be fun ... I don't often get the chance but it's great when it does come!
(E-Environment, H:Health, F:Financial, PD: Prof/Personal Development, R: Relationships.)

Gratitude:

1.  Today, I'm grateful that KA gave me the extra ticket and that she took the night to spend with me! What a blessing!
2.  Today, I am grateful for laughter.  It's been a long time since I laughed that much and that hard!  Wow! So awesome!
3.  Today, I'm grateful for those moments when I can be spontaneous, when nothing is pressing and I can do something completely away from any plan!  I need to make sure to take every opportunity like that given to me!
4.  Today, I'm grateful for fantastic company, fantastic food and fantastic times with a fantastic play! What a difference that can make!
5.  Today, I'm grateful for a good day - from start to end. Now, to figure out how to have more of these ...

31 of 100 ... Wednesday like Tuesday

I think that Fridays off are better than Mondays off ... and you know something's not quite right when you live for the weekend! (Even when weekends aren't that great!) Covering for two people is ok, provided I can balance my own tasks.  Not good when all my time goes to the other person's tasks!

Habits:
- Clean Sink: yes
- Cups of Water: 4
- Hours of sleep: 6h 36m

- Meds: yes
- FoodRecord: yes! AND I was within the calories Fitbit recommended! A bit low, but good!

FitBit notes:
- 4535 steps (1.95mi, 5 active min)

Goal Advancement for today:

H: I ate completely to plan!
PD: Attempted ritual ... it will take work.
(E-Environment, H:Health, F:Financial, PD: Prof/Personal Development, R: Relationships.)

Gratitude:

1. I'm grateful today that I was able to eat to my plan! I logged every food item and it was good to see what a day like that looks like! And, that means my fall-back plan could be a key to success!!
2. I'm grateful today that I was able to kind of keep up to Gen's tasks - she's away and I kept up to the task, even though I'm sure it took me double time.
3. I'm grateful today that I could go home and rest! I avoided any place where I could spend money and went straight home!
4. I'm grateful today that my little plant seems to have survived!  I have this plant that I got about 2 years ago when I made a trip to Edmonton.  At some point recently, I completely forgot to water it ... so it dried out and looked like I had killed it.  Then I watered it ... in bits, but too close together (there are no drain-holes in the pot), so I drown it.  It was floating in water.  I decided to relocate the plant to a place where I see it more often, and I think it will come through!  Hmm ... a bit my like my story, isn't it?
5. I'm grateful today that I'm beginning to feel motivation to move forward.  Energy is still lacking (tired - likely from the very low iron), but the mind is getting very antsy to get moving! At times like this, I'm jealous of women who don't work!! (Better be careful what I say - I might find myself unemployed soon enough! So many layoffs at work, it's scary! ... or maybe a blessing???)

30 of 100 ... Steps are Up!

Man, you can tell when I'm back at work!  Mind you, I also covered for 2 people today so my walking was greatly increased.  No 10,000 steps yet, but close!

Day's Results

Habits:
- Clean Sink: yes
- Cups of Water: 5
- Hours of sleep: 6h (2x awake, 20x restless)
- Meds: yes

- FoodRecord: all but supperFitBit Notes:
- 8112 steps!! (3.49 mi)

Goal Advancement for today:

H: I ate to plan about 80%.  My INR was in the right range (2.2).
PD: I did a bit of research on ritual - morning and evening ritual.  What do successful people do in their mornings and evenings that set them apart?  Interesting results!  I found a neat website that could prove useful: www.asianefficiency.com and downloaded 3 apps to experiment with: Planner Plus, Way of Life and HabitClock.
(E-Environment, H:Health, F:Financial, PD: Prof/Personal Development, R: Relationships.)

Gratitude:

1.  I'm grateful today that the day went well.  I don't think I've walked this much since before my PEs! (Pulmonary Emboli)
2.  I'm grateful today that I had a go-to meal when I came home!  My thinking just might work in this area!
3.  I'm grateful today that I made it through with few tears ... I was talking to a friend and all of a sudden the grief just washed over me.  I don't know why it's tougher this year but it is.  However, other than that one slip, I'm doing ok at pushing through and not letting others know.
4.  I'm grateful today that I took a bit of time at lunch to read (hey, what happened to my reading habit at the top??? ...).  It feels good to chew on something 'healthy'.
5.  I'm grateful that, for now, I have a job.  So much is tense at work and rumours are all over the place!  They really could manage this better!  It's not rocket-science that when a project ends, people get laid off; but the way in which they're doing it is not doing anyone any favours!

29 of 100 ... How Badly Do

You Want It?

That has been my mantra all day ... how badly do I want it?  It helped me in neat ways ... and I'm ready to go to bed, with a good feeling.  I spent more on groceries today than I ever have in one sitting before, and it was all good stuff.  There were personal things in there that didn't have to do with food, but all the food was healthy stuff.  Now, if I can only not go to the grocery story for a while, that would be great!

On the flip side, a reflective day - it still seems like yesterday that I was in a classroom.  And man, do I miss it this year! As far as I've gotten beyond teaching, I still have moments when I ache for it again.  Once a teacher, always a teacher. It's not a job, it's a calling. It's a purpose.

Habits:
- Clean Sink: yes
- Cups of Water: 4
- Hours of sleep: did not record.
- Meds: yes

- FoodRecord: no
FitBit Notes:
- 2758 steps ... and I felt I was walking most of the day!

Goal Advancement for today:

H: I planned my meals for the week and have a back-up plan.  I bought to the plan (and a bit more, but all healthy!) and intend to begin that journey tomorrow.  So much easier when I'm at work and HAVE food!
E: I got 2 of the 3 components out of my car.  1 more when the store is open and accepting drop-offs.  Might not be until Sat. but things are arrange accordingly in my car and I can do another trip (sorta) as soon as possible! It's not only about cleaning out the storage but also about cleaning out my car!
(E-Environment, H:Health, F:Financial, PD: Prof/Personal Development, R: Relationships.)

Gratitude:

1.  I'm grateful tonight that the medication that I got (and I got all I need), was under $100.  Yes, that is with the coverage.  ONE prescription was 15 packets, it was a generic brand, not the name brand.  15 packets cost $190 ... of that I paid $42.  For some reason, each prescription was a different percentage ... oh well.  At least the total was less than $100!!
2. Today, I'm grateful that I got everything done on my errand list.
3. Today, I'm grateful that Summer 2014 is over.  It was really difficult and so off in every way, but there were moments of joy and it has come to an end.  I'm grateful for that!
4.  Today, I remember GK - she has moved to Penticton and I wish her all the joy.  I will miss her terribly but I am so grateful today to have counted her a friend, for all the lunches when we worked downtown, for all the times we met after, she will always be a special friend.
5.  Today, I also remember my years teaching.  I miss them and am so grateful I had them.  I miss my students most of all.  I can't stay 'here' but a moment remembering and being grateful I think is ok.
