What was is gone, what is to come can still be. If I do what I've always done, I'll get what I've always got. This needs to change. Here I challenge myself to that change and see what can yet become of this chapter of my life.

19 of 100 ... Stepping out
A really good day. I've been thinking about this for a bit and today I made a bit of an investment. Let's see how this comes out. A trend right now with people I know is something called a "Fitbit". I didn't really commemorate the end of my first 100 days, so I decided today to note the change and get myself one of these things. It's like a bracelet that tracks all sorts of things, for health benefits. It was $100 so, I thought, 100 days for $100 = a Fitbit! I got it set up this evening, so we'll see how this goes!
Day's Report:
Habits:
- Clean Sink: yes
- Cups of Water:5
- Hours of sleep: 5ish
- Meds: yes
- Reading: no
Goal Advancement for today:
F: I got some important bills paid and feel good about it!
R: I had lunch with GK and will miss her horribly.
PA: I had an email ... that might lead to another job. I need to follow this up!
P: Obviously, the purchase of the Fitbit will promote my health! It has a place for caloric balance but also records sleep and exercise.
(E-Environment, P:Physical, F:Financial, PA: Prof/Personal Development, R: Relationships.)
Gratitude:
1. Today, I am grateful for GK's friendship. I will miss her horribly and know my life will be a bit quieter right now. I wish her well but I will miss her.
2. Today, I'm grateful I took the plunge and got the Fitbit. My first test is to see how well it wakes me tomorrow morning!
3. Today, I'm grateful to get a good INR result. The more often these happen, the better my life will be!
4. Today, I'm grateful for the encouragement I got from JG - I am really trying to be positive. Sometimes it's really hard, but I have decided to just not talk about it publicly. Not on FaceBook, not here. These are the places where I focus on positive things, to combat those dark moments. And,right now, it's working.
5. Today, I'm grateful for getting things done today - blood test, lunch with GK, visit to my bank, clearing up my brother's magazine problem, my Fitbit, and spending a bit of time with JG.
Let's see how sleep goes!

18 of 100 ... When are Thursdays Fridays?
When they're DDOs! (Designated Days Off) I heard rumour today that our DDOs might be coming to an end. Well, that will be just another reason for me to put some effort into job hunting! I have to admit, I've gotten to enjoy these days, and to use them for appointments, as I can! So, knowing that Friday was a day off, I got through the day and had some great moments in the midst of the crumby weather.
Day's Report
Habits:
- Clean Sink: yes
- Cups of Water:4
- Hours of sleep: On paper it looks like I slept 12 hrs but I know it was probably closer to 10. Felt good to sleep but it seems like I'm tired all the time. No energy after work for anything!
- Meds: yes
- Reading: yes
Goal Advancement for today:
R: I was more social today than I've been in a bit. Went for lunch with a woman from work and had a good talk with another admin. I'm not the only one feeling that something is tense. Also tried to reconnect with VG.
(E-Environment, P:Physical, F:Financial, PA: Prof/Personal Development, R: Relationships.)
Gratitude:
1. On this day, Thursday, I'm grateful for the fantastic lunch BI treated me to! She got a gift certificate from one of the hotels for a buffet lunch and it was magnificent!
2. On this day, Thursday, I'm grateful for having time to read.
3. On this day, Thursday, I'm grateful for getting some cleaning done. Tomorrow will be quite busy and it's nice to have a nice clean home to come back to.
4. On this day, Thursday, I'm grateful for not feeling the pain that I felt earlier this week. I still think I should get it checked, but at least the urgency of the pain has let off.
5. On this day, Thursday, I'm grateful for the good day I had at work - I feel like I got a lot done and I am confident of the close-out binders. Between the buyers and myself, this won't be hard.

17 of 100 ... Digging Deep
Ok ... I'm not sure if Wed was a bust or if something else is going on. Work was ok ... but I got home and crashed. I was asleep on my sofa by 6:30 PM, to wake at 12:30, relocate to my bed and then again at 6:30 AM this morning (which will show in Thurs report). So much I wanted to do, people I wanted to call ... and nada. Let's see how the day turned out:
Day's Report:
Habits:
- Clean Sink: yes
- Cups of Water:4
- Hours of sleep: 7h 8m
- Meds: yes
- Reading: no, but I did do a bit of journaling at lunch.
Goal Advancement for today:P: Does the sleep count?
(E-Environment, P:Physical, F:Financial, PA: Prof/Personal Development, R: Relationships.)
Gratitude:
1. On this day, Wednesday, I was grateful for being able to stay caught up at work. One of the girls is gone on holidays and I'm taking over her responsibilities of getting signatures. It was a bit tiring, but I kept on top of it!
2. On this day, Wednesday, I was grateful for wearing a sweater to work. It has gotten a little chilly so it was nice to stay warm.
3. On this day, Wednesday, I was grateful for not going for lunch with the girl from work (we're going Thursday) so I could do a bit of journaling.
4. On this day, Wednesday, I was grateful for ... for ... getting a parking spot close to the elevator. I either want a parking spot close to the elevator or on the 2-3 floor, close to the stairs. I can do the stairs, but only one flight.
5. On this day, Wednesday, I was grateful for ... for ... for ... for the pain in my back being a muscular pain rather than something more serious. I had this horrible pain in my back all day, enough for me to gasp when it shot through me, and I'm convinced today that it was muscular rather than something like ... a heart attack or something with my lungs? Checking online for what could cause symptoms were all pretty scary, so today, I'm almost certain that it was muscular (from vomiting Tuesday night). If anything changes, I'll be paying a visit to the hospital.

16 of 100 ... Slow Progression
A good day, if I could get rid of the sniffling, coughing and hurting. All in time, I guess. The weather is supposed to change, and so long as it doesn't rain, I should be able to make progress into my priority. It is my priority, and yet I have made little progress towards it. Somehow, somewhere, I need to fight back and not risk my health in the process.
My Day's Report:
Habits:
- Clean Sink: yes
- Cups of Water:4
- Hours of sleep: 7h 30m
- Meds: yes
- Reading: yes!
(Day 21 is 3 weeks, and I need to add another habit on that day ... hmm ... what will it be? Let's see if I can have a yes on all of these and 5 cups of water or more for these last 5 days before adding the next??)
Goal Advancement for today:
R: I made plans to go for lunch tomorrow with one of the girls from work
P: I desperately need new glasses, so I figured out when to make an eye appointment and made it. Not sure how I'll bring this all together, but this is where it starts.
PD: Read more in the book I'm reading & made notes. There are questions but haven't done those yet. I wonder how things would change if I read consistently at a different time of the day?
(E-Environment, P:Physical, F:Financial, PA: Prof/Personal Development, R: Relationships.)
Gratitude:
1/ Today, I'm grateful for the invite for lunch tomorrow.
2/ Today, I'm sooo grateful that I have the chance to see GK one more time before she moves! This friendship is truly a gift to me ... came out of no where and has been such an encouragement to me through some tough times! I'm going to miss her so much! Friday will be tough but I'm glad her dreams are coming together!
3/ Today, I'm grateful to have taken the time to read at lunch. I always want to get going on things when I read or do any work on my goals, but I had to go back to work. Maybe I should read upon getting home? Then I could DO something!
4/ Today, I'm grateful that I caught a message on FB that was between my two cousins. Something is going on behind my brother's back and I'm glad I could twig him into it. Why can't people honour the intent of the dead? Why do people insist on turning things around for their profit and selfishness sense of entitlement? I might not agree with everything my Aunt put in her will, but I definitely honour it. It seems like my brother and I are the only ones.
5/ Today, I'm grateful that I have friends that feel comfortable enough to push me into uncomfortable places. RA challenged me, and it was good. I know there is much that she doesn't know, but even in the changing, it is good. It gets me to evaluate and look at things from her perspective. It's up to my honesty to evaluate how much knowing the whole picture influences the facts in her perspective. It's good to have people in my life that do that, and that I can still care about her, regardless of the outcome. I think a sign of a good relationship is the ability to disagree and not let it affect the relationship.
** A small extra grateful moment - I found out a former student of mine passed away recently. She was in her 30s, and as far as I can figure out, it was from cancer. I remember has a vivacious girl where interaction was more important than classes. I didn't get to know her really well, but it still saddened me to know she has passed on. I guess right now, with all that is happening to me, it's sobering to know that life is precious, regardless of who we are. Tonight, I think of her parents, her husband and her friends that are missing her.
15 of 100 ... Exhausted
Wow ... what a day of utter exhaustion! I get so turned around on days like this, so much to do, so little energy. I'm not sure where this is coming from - nutrition & weight (which is my go-to ailment!) or something else that is internally off the rails.
For all the exhaustion, man, was my brain going a million miles an hour! No one topic did it flit through my head with superficiality and lightness of being ... no, let's pick a topic and chew on it a hundred times and then chew on it some more. Things like suicide, like purpose, like where do I go from here ... *sigh ... sometimes I wish there was a switch I could flick and turn everything off. Maybe it would help with the night's sleep as well! (So friends don't become concerned: no, the suicide does not have to do with contemplating it as a choice for myself. Yes, I have genuinely contemplated that in my past, and no, taking that action is something I would never do. No matter how bad things get, I'm too curious to see what will happen tomorrow for that not to happen! There's more than that, but my point is that, no matter how far down that path I might go, I'll never go the distance.)
Day's Report:
Habits:
- Clean Sink: yes
- Cups of Water:4
- Hours of sleep: 5h 50m
- Meds: yes
- Reading: no
Goal Advancement for today:
R: Had a 3 hr conversation with my brother last night after writing my report. So much for the early-to-bed gratitude!
(E-Environment, P:Physical, F:Financial, PA: Prof/Personal Development, R: Relationships.)
Gratitude:
1. Today, I'm grateful that my blood INR is back in the safe zone. I was also told from 2 different sources that blood clots are rather frequent, that every 3rd or 4th person that comes in for blood tests is having their INR checked. That's a lot of people!
2. Today, I'm grateful for the relationship that I have with my brother. I don't think there's anyone in my world that is to me what he is.
3. Today, I'm grateful for getting things done at work by the time they were needed. It was like something was against me and all sorts of things were intervening to hold me back, but I managed to make it and complete what I needed to by the time I needed to complete it by.
4. Today, I'm grateful for a short week. Friday is a DDO! So I only need to get through 3 more days to this week!
5. Today, I'm grateful for the chance to try to get to sleep before 10 again. At least I have the opportunity!

14 of 100 ... Sunday - End or Beginning of Week?
Sunday nears the end, and all I know is that Monday, everything happens over again. I wonder if the coming week will be like the last one? I hope not. It was an odd weekend and I really don't want to repeat it.
Day's Report:
Habits:
- Clean Sink: yes
- Cups of Water:3
- Hours of sleep: about 10-ish
- Meds: yes
- Reading: yes
Goal Advancement for today:
Nothing to report.
(E-Environment, P:Physical, F:Financial, PA: Prof/Personal Development, R: Relationships.)
Gratitude:
1/ Today, I'm grateful that I got my apartment cleaned, in a general way.
2/ Today, I'm grateful that I got most of my laundry washed and caught up.
3/ Today, I'm grateful that I didn't get ready for a trip to the dump, I think it would not have worked out. At least this way, I'm not upset because I made the decision before I was ditched.
4/ Today, I'm grateful for spending some time on my goals and working towards testing out an app that I found. It takes time so I hope there's a payoff in the long run.
5/ Today, I'm grateful for being able to go to bed early. This is also starting to happen too often ... and might be a flag of concern.

13 of 100 ... When is a Saturday not a Saturday?
When nothing comes of it. I had good intentions, I even had motivation and a list! And, the day has come to an end - nothing came of it. Not quite sure what happened there.
Day's Report:
Habits:
- Clean Sink: yes
- Cups of Water:2
- Hours of sleep: unknown ... I slept on the sofa Friday night.
- Meds: yes
- Reading: no
Goal Advancement for today:
P: I don't understand why I have no problem sleeping the entire night on the sofa. Sadly, the other consequences of the sofa-sleep are not as positive. At least, I'm attributing my swollen ankles to sleeping on the sofa. I can't help but wonder if there is a connection to the clots.
** I had plans to work on 3-4 of the goals today, and somehow it just didn't come about.
(E-Environment, P:Physical, F:Financial, PA: Prof/Personal Development, R: Relationships.)
Gratitude:
1/ Today, I'm grateful that there is tomorrow to try again.
2/ Today, I'm grateful that RA got home safely.
3/ Today, I'm grateful for an interesting "discussion" with my cousin, BF.
4/ Today, I'm grateful for my wonderful TV that my brother gave to me for Christmas.
5/ Today, I'm grateful for the urgency to find a solution to my storage problem. I may have thought of something ... let's see what tomorrow brings. Maybe I can prove at least part of it.
